1. What is the Prague Gaming Summit about?
The first edition of Prague Gaming Summit (PGS) is going to take place between 8-9 June, 2017 in Prague at the Andel’s by Vienna House Prague.
It is going to be a seminar-type conference and is set to become the stage where the most renowned experts across the world will create workshops and share their ideas about how the Czech government can amend the right methods to attract operators and service providers in the newly regulated market.
The first edition of the yearly Summit will give way for the delegates to network with regulators, gaming experts, operators, software providers, and investors.
A special report will be given about the Czech Republic’s first 6 months achievements in a newly regulated emerging market in Eastern Europe. The Summit will also focus on bringing a wealth of information about the Baltic and Scandinavian region with world-class speakers and regulators sharing their updates and advice.
The +150 delegates will get the opportunity to maximize the abundance of information that will be given during the Summit and during the specially designed networking sessions which will enable them to create new contact while exploring “THE CITY OF A HUNDRED SPIRES AND GREAT BEER“.
2. Czech Republic is a newly regulated gaming market, do you see this as a good thing for players?
In my opinion, regulated markets are always safer for players. They have the government to create a safe environment by regulating the market with compliance checks to enable the licensed operators to accept players within the country’s borders.
With the licensing process comes the payment channel checks and the regulating of the wager amounts. Then come to the Responsible Gambling acts and amendments which protect the players to losing money because of their pathological gambling issues.
The regulated markets are also blacklisting the operators that are not complying with state laws and will not apply for licensing, which means that players are protected by ISPs and can’t access unlicensed gaming portals.
Everything listed above is in the protection of the players, thus to answer your question with one word about whether I see the newly regulated Czech market to be a good thing for players is YES!
3. For people that have yet to visit Prague, what advice do you have for them for getting to experience the city aside from coming to the conference for business?
Must check out the numerous museums that are spread across the city. The land where Prague came to be built has been settled since the Paleolithic Age. Several thousand of years ago, there were trade routes connecting southern parts of Europe to northern Europe which passed through this area following the course of the river.
Must visit the following museums, they are unique: Museum of alchemists and magicians of old Prague, Sex Machines Museum, and the Prague Beer Museum.
Taking things from Wikipedia now, I have visited Prague two times and witnessed its beauty, but the facts must be mentioned in a correct mater.
Prague Castle, dating from the 9th century, the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world and is among the most visited tourist attractions in Prague attracting over 1.8 million visitors annually.
The Prague astronomical clock, which is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, installed in 1410, it is the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating.
The Charles Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished at the beginning of the 15th century. The bridge replaced the old Judith Bridge built 1158–1172 that had been badly damaged by a flood in 1342. This new bridge was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau) until 1841, the Charles Bridge was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town and adjacent areas. This "solid-land" connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.
4. What features of the conference do you think would be interested to casino and slots players?
I think all regulatory updates can be of interest for casino and slots players, because it will bring a new understanding about the taxation of the wages they place. As I’ve mentioned earlier, the players have to see what the taxation brackets that are forced upon the operators and understand how small their profits really are.
5. Do you think people that are online gamblers would find it easy to work in the gaming business or perhaps start their own affiliate portal?
It depends on several factors, but I do believe that anybody can achieve anything if they set their mind and heart right.
An aspect I would like to point out is that players and online marketers are wired differently by it’s a paradox that in order to be a good gambling affiliate you must be a great player and understand the industry.
If you look at it in a different perspective, almost 95% of the players that engage in online gambling are somehow affiliates and they don’t even know it or claiming benefits from it.
I don’t think that there are that many players out there who haven’t referred a casino or online slots game at one of the operators to a friend or relative. Even given a bad or good review about an operator to a friend or relative has certain affiliate backgrounds, because it increases or decreases the traffic or interest shown towards a casino or sportsbook.
In conclusion, starting your affiliate portal is just the second step when you understand what being an affiliate it’s all about when starting to gamble online.
6. What are some of the highlights of the conference or events you have planned that should make people want to attend?
Nowadays when making a decision about which event to attend is like choosing to see a movie premiere at your favorite cinema hall. There so many conferences or events organized on a monthly base that you really need to pay attention and study the agenda/program in full detail to understand why and most important which event to attend.
At EEGMedia/EEGEvents we study the current trends closely before drawing the agenda and choosing the location. With this analysis, we can surely point out what topic is necessary to discuss or highlight and which ones don’t really give you the advantage to know about.
Thus, we invite all interested peers to study our agendas for the upcoming events, and we a sure that they will find the hottest topics of the online gambling industry approached by the experts of the industry.
One of the aspects of the events in which we take pride is that you will only see delegates that are really interested in attending that event and wanting to meet the delegates that attend. We don’t commit to organized invitations that serve only unilateral purposes. So, to cut it short, watch this space for important updates about our future events in Prague, Budapest, and Vienna.
