Dungeon Quest is played on a huge 7×5 board, which means there are five reels that are seven rows high. 29 fixed paylines are used on this board. There are eight symbols in the paytable, and they are divided into two groups, Gems and Ores. The four Ores of different colors can be forged into Gems during one of the randomly triggered bonus features. There is also a Wild that substitutes for all symbols, and a Scatter. The paytable is quite even, as Ores and Gems aren’t far apart and Gems only pay roughly twice as good as Ores. There is no symbol that would pay much better than the others.

There are two bonus features that can get triggered anytime during the main game, and these features are very powerful and can leave you with many winning paylines. Gem Forge randomly chooses one of the Ore symbols to replace all other Ore symbols, and then the Ore symbol will upgrade to its Gem counterpart. Power Stone places a 2×2 Wild symbol randomly on the board, and then all occurences of a randomly picked Ore symbol will turn Wild.

The free spins game is the star of the show, despite only giving 4 free spins when you land those three Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5. Before every spin, one Ore symbol will be chosen and wherever it lands it will turn to Wild. By the fourth spin, you’re likely to have your board covered in Wilds and in winning paylines.

Theoretical return to player (RTP) isn’t known for this slot but it seems to pay well, and variance is medium, perhaps even a bit low. The game will often reward you with plenty of Wilds which will then form many winning paylines, and as the game pays well it’s also easy to play.
