The WSOP event organizers have announced the third edition of its world-renowned online poker festival will be held between 10th September and 18th October 2023. The event which is considered the largest online poker event on the planet will take place on the wsop.com platform. The festival has been expanded to four US states, with Michigan and Pennsylvania joining New Jersey and Nevada.

The online poker festival will bring in a series of additional entries for the upcoming WSOP Tournament of Champions that will be held in Las Vegas in 2023. It has been decided that every WSOP gold bracelet winner in the online event will get to join the in-person tournament next summer. The decision applies to both domestic and international winners.
WSOP’s executive director and senior vice president Tu Stewart commented on the success of this year’s WSOP edition, saying that no one truly wanted to see it come to an end. However, he added that “in many ways”, the return of the online WSOP festival may prove to be even more add exciting. Along with GGPoker, WSOP is determined to turn the festival into the “biggest deal in online poker” every year. The poker giant plans to turn WSOP into the “marquee event” for both online and live poker tournaments.
Close to $348 million in prize money were awarded to almost 200,000 skilled poker players during the 53rd WSOP edition held on the Strip in Vegas. A massive $10 million prize was awarded to the winner of the Main Event, Norwegian Espen Uhlen Jorstad. Jorstad is the first player from his country to ever win this prestigious poker prize. On the last day of the event, Jorstad beat Australian Adrian Attenborough who also scooped up $6 million as the second-prize winner, and Michael Duek who was ranked third with $4 million.
